G+T’s Darren Fittler recognised by Avner Foundation

15th August 2011

At its recent fundraising dinner, the directors of the Avner Nahmani Pancreatic Cancer Foundation recognised the outstanding work of Gilbert + Tobin lawyer Darren Fittler, by presenting him with a gift from the Foundation.

Mr Fittler, initiator of Gilbert + Tobin’s Third Sector Advisory group which advises the not-for-profit sector, has worked closely with the Foundation, assisting it in achieving endorsement as a tax concession charity (TCC) and as a deductible gift recipient (DGR) to enable the Foundation to improve the capability of its fundraising operations Australia-wide.

“It has been a pleasure to work with such a passionate, committed and friendly team lead by Caroline Kelly, founder of the Avner Foundation. In less than 12 months we have together achieved what many organisations only dream about!” Mr Fittler said.

The Avner Nahmani Pancreatic Cancer Foundation was established in 2008 to raise funds for research and support services, and to build awareness of pancreatic cancer. The annual fundraising dinner was held last week Sydney and included guests of honour Michael Luscombe, MD and CEO Woolworths, and Warwick White, Managing Director of Coca-Cola Amatil, Australasia, on behalf of Woolworths and Coca-Cola Amatil who support the Foundation.
