Technology and telecommunications work was a foundation of Gilbert + Tobin’s practice since the firm’s inception in 1988. The firm now boasts one of the largest telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) & Project Services legal teams in the country, with approximately 50 specialist lawyers dedicated to serving our clients’ needs on some of the most critical and complex transactions in the sector.
One of our team’s most unique features is that we view the technology, telecommunications and media sectors as highly specialised, stand-alone practice areas. Our technology lawyers are leaders in their field, as opposed to being a mere adjunct to, or a support function for, general corporate services. Through our specialisation comes deep expertise, delivered with creativity and imagination. Many of our team are considered leaders in their area of law. Collectively, we have a formidable reputation advising on complex, high-value commercial transactions across a range of industry sectors including mass transport and logistics, energy and resources, telecommunications, government and financial services.
Gilbert + Tobin’s TMT & Project Services team runs international matters from the firm’s Australian offices and meets with clients overseas whenever needed. Some of the group’s recent matters have involved clients based in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Thailand and the Middle East.
