At Gilbert + Tobin we believe that, as lawyers, we are the housekeepers of the legal system. It is our responsibility to ensure that the system is just and equitable, and that everyone in our society has access to legal representation and advice.
At Gilbert + Tobin we have always understood that our business is part of the society in which we operate. That is why, since our inception in 1988, we have delivered pro bono legal services to marginalised and disadvantaged people initially close to home, and as our business grew and our reputation spread, across the country.
We are proud to have set a standard for the Australian legal profession by employing full-time pro bono lawyers since 1996. The firm’s pro bono practice is led by Partners, Michelle Hannon and Anne Cregan, with three full time lawyers in our team, including two dedicated administrators. You can read about our leading pro bono practice here.
Our understanding of how our business is part of the world around us has deepened and we appointed a Head of CSR in April 2007 to implement our vision of being a profitable and sustainable business. To learn more about our innovative corporate social responsibility programs, click here.
