Professional Development

Our Business Operations teams play a critical role in the success of G+T. Our teams form a multidisciplinary function that optimise the delivery of legal services by the firm.

Continuous learning

Continuous learning is not just for G+T’s lawyers – our Business Operations teams are also provided with a range of opportunities to progress their career and further develop their skills.

Some examples of learning programs in the past year include:

  • communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • your working style and strengths;
  • creativity and design thinking;
  • project management; and
  • formalised Executive Assistant development program.

Career pathways

By investing in all our employees, we have supported and encouraged career changes across the firm, allowing many individuals to broaden their careers and grow professionally, by moving between teams and departments.

I started at G+T as a Receptionist five years ago, then moved into an HR Administrator role, and now into HR Coordinator. G+T helped me transition to this new position, and is currently supporting me to further my studies in HR, in which I am undertaking my Certificate IV in Human Resources.

I started at G+T in May 2011 as the Information technology Service Desk Manager. After a couple of years in the role G+T asked me to establish a new function called Service HQ taking the core best elements of Service Delivery within IT and applying it to a non IT role and implement and internal admin support and concierge service for the firm. Since then I have progressed to a Service Delivery Manager and have 4 teams under my wing two in the IT space and two in the non-IT space. I also chair one of the diversity teams here and play an active role in the wider diversity council

G+T has provided a great career path for me as it has nurtured my strengths and given me the freedom to bring forward ideas, run with those ideas and be recognised for them. There aren’t unnecessary barriers and red tape to go through they believe in and trust their people. I love working at G+T it is a professional established firm with a start-up mentality.
