  • Your own mentor – a lawyer who’ll help you build relationships within the practice group and learn more about the law in practice

Interviews commence

10 October

Offers will be made in October and must be accepted or declined that same day.

How it works

You’ll be interviewed by a partner and a representative from our People Team. The interview is an opportunity for us to get to know you better, and for you to learn more about Gilbert + Tobin. You’ll be asked a range of questions and about yourself and what you have noted on your CV.

When and where are interviews held?

We conduct interviews in September and they take place during business hours at G+T’s office at 101 Collins Street. The nearest tram stop is stop number 7, 101 Collins Street, directly in front of the building.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend you arrive 10 minutes prior to your interview timeslot.

What should I bring?

Please bring an updated copy of your academic transcript (original copy) and a passport size photo of yourself.

What should I wear?

Either a suit or a smart business–casual outfit. Your interviewers will be wearing smart business attire.

How should I prepare for my interview?

We appreciate the interview process can be nerve wracking and we want you to put your best foot forward on the day. Prior to the interview, we recommend you research the firm and your practice area of interest, and prepare a few questions you’d like to ask the interviewers. Try to speak confidently and clearly throughout the interview and attempt to respond to all interviewers’ questions. Remember – you should do most of the talking at the interview, so be prepared to talk about yourself.

Can I ask questions at the interview?

Yes! The interview is your opportunity to learn more about the firm. Our interviewers welcome questions and are happy to help you get to know us better.
