Gilbert + Tobin is proud to announce that partners John Lee and Dominic Emmett were recognised at the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards held in Sydney on 28 April.

John Lee was named Intellectual Property Partner of the Year while Dominic Emmett took out top honours in the Insolvency category.

Dominic is regarded as one of Australia’s pre-eminent restructuring and insolvency lawyers and has acted on Australia’s most complex and high profile transactions, including most recently the Arrium administration and Moly-Cop sale, as well as the restructures of Bis Industries, Boart Longyear, Slater and Gordon and Emeco. 

John leads Gilbert + Tobin’s Patent sub-practice within the IP group, and is one of Australia’s most experienced and successful patent litigators. He is the solicitor on the record in relation to numerous Federal Court patent litigation cases as well as a number of Patent Office oppositions for various high profile clients, including BASF, Aristocrat and Shopify.
