Martin primarily advises clients in the mining, energy and renewables sectors. He acts on a range of mining, renewables and power project developments and funding, with particular experience advising on iron ore, rare earth minerals and decarbonisation projects. Martin has significant experience advising on construction matters, incorporations and structuring, joint development agreements, facility agreements and related financing matters, and process agent appointments.
Prior to becoming a solicitor, Martin spent ten years in the oil and gas industry before specialising in resources law. He has worked with and for Tier 1 subsea engineering and installation and vessel fabrication organisations and Tier 1 operators. Martin’s legal training began in the City of London with a top tier American firm and his legal career continued in Scotland before his relocation to practice in Western Australia.
Martin was admitted in the senior courts of England and Wales in September 2020 and admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in March 2024.
