Biography

    Georgina is a Special Counsel in Gilbert + Tobin’s Corporate Advisory group with a focus on financial services, fintech and web3.

    Georgina advises Australian and offshore businesses on matters relating to financial services, consumer credit and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulation. Georgina’s relevant experience includes advising financial services firms, fintech offerings, digital platforms and markets, decentralised finance, digital currency exchanges, digital wallets, cryptocurrencies, stored value and payments, retail and wholesale funds and custody.

    Georgina has contributed to a range of industry publications, including the Australian chapters of Getting the Deal Through – Anti-money Laundering and Getting the Deal Through – Fintech.

    Georgina is also a registered migration agent and provides pro bono legal advice at the Refugee Advice & Casework Service and Refugee Legal Service.

    Georgina has a Bachelor of Arts – Psychology and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Macquarie University. Georgina has also completed the Oxford Saïd Business School course on Fintech. In 2022, Georgina was named in the Best Lawyers list of “ones to watch” for Corporate Law, Corporate / Governance Practice and Banking and Finance Law.

    Georgina is recognised as a Rising Star for Fintech and Financial Services Regulation.
