Gilbert + Tobin won the award for Innovation in use of Technology at last night’s Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards Asia-Pacific 2016.

Gilbert + Tobin won the award for its legal hackathon, which it hosted in conjunction with client Westpac and LegalVision in January 2016.

The firm was also ranked third most innovative law firm overall in the Asia-Pacific headquartered category.

Danny Gilbert said he was thrilled with the recognition, which reflects the firm’s commitment to innovation.

The FT Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards recognise law firms advising on the most transformational transactions in the region, the in-house legal teams adding the most value to business, and the most innovative individuals in the industry.

The winners for the FT Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards were selected from more than 460 nominations from 72 law firms and 82 in-house legal teams.
