Gilbert + Tobin has had another successful year at the 18th Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards with Danny Gilbert taking out Managing Partner of the Year and IP lawyer, Rebecca Dunn, winning Special Counsel of the Year.

The awards which took place on Friday 31 August in Sydney, recognise outstanding work being done across major legal practice areas, brilliance at the bar, legal in-house powerhouses, innovators and various firm-led pro bono programs.

The recognition of both Danny and Rebecca is a testament to yet another terrific year for G+T and the firm’s commitment to developing the best talent in the industry.

G+T Partner and Head of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice, Michael Williams, who accepted the award on behalf of Danny, said “Danny’s leadership has helped shape our firm for over 30 years and we are delighted to see his contribution to our firm, the legal industry and the community recognised tonight.”

Rebecca was successful in winning against an extremely strong field of cross-practice Special Counsels. “Rebecca has been involved in some of the highest profile IP cases in Australia and works on matters at the cutting edge of media and technology law, through which she has helped cement the IP team’s profile as the leading experts in legal issues arising in social media, data breaches, as well complex disputes over the provision of technology and associated services, added Michael Williams.

Gilbert + Tobin was also finalist for Law Firm of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Transaction team of the Year, Dispute Resolution Team of the Year, Intellectual Property Team of the Year, Pro Bono Program of the Year, Rising Star of the Year; Jenny Leung and Special Counsel of the Year; Jennifer Barron.
