Gilbert + Tobin has been recognised for its work on the global merger between Anheuser-Busch InBev NV (ABI) and SABMiller, which was awarded Matter of the Year at the 2017 Global Competition Review Awards held in Washington DC. 

The multi-billion dollar transaction between the global brewing giants saw the companies merge into a sole powerhouse with an estimated 46% of global beer profits. Gilbert + Tobin’s team worked closely with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as global legal advisors, representing ABI in the Australian aspects of the deal. The overall team was recognised for their creative, strategic and innovative work in the transaction.
