Australia’s most innovative law firm, Gilbert + Tobin has today launched its new interactive HarperReady competition law tool, which is available on Gilbert + Tobin’s market-leading Smart Counsel app.

HarperReady focuses on two areas of the competition laws that have recently changed – the new concerted practices prohibition and the changes to the misuse of market power prohibition. The interactive tool explores business activities that now involve greater competition law risk, and provides practical strategies to mitigate these risks.

Paula Gilardoni, a Partner in Gilbert + Tobin’s Competition and Regulation Group said HarperReady uses a technology-driven risk-based approach to the delivery of legal content. “The app focuses on a number of high risk areas – how to identify them and what to do if one of those high risk scenario arises. It works as a screening tool that in-house counsel and business people can constantly access on their mobile phone”, said Gilardoni.

Gilbert + Tobin’s Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer, Caryn Sandler led the technical development of the HarperReady tool and said the firm is always looking for new opportunities to leverage technology to provide value for our clients.

“Gilbert + Tobin is committed to re-thinking traditional legal service whether this be by automating routine and time-consuming legal tasks or using artificial intelligence to speed-up document review. HarperReady provides practical and easily accessible legal resource for our clients. It is another example of the way in which Gilbert + Tobin is helping our clients achieve more with less”, said Sandler.

The Smart Counsel app is available as a free download for iOS and Android from the App Store, Google Play or at www.smartcounsel.gtlaw.com.au
