Gilbert + Tobin continued its award winning performance at the 2017 Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers ceremony in Hong Kong last night, picking up four awards:

  • Most innovative law firm headquartered in the Asia Pacific
  • Most innovative law firm in Australia
  • Innovation in new product and services
  • Joint winner for innovation in expanding clients’ businesses

Managing Partner Danny Gilbert also received the first Asia Pacific Special Achievement Award for his extraordinary contribution to law and commitment to innovation.

The Financial Times recognised Mr Gilbert as having the hallmarks of an innovative leader: ambition, continual improvement and the ability to see opportunities that others miss.

Mr Gilbert was honoured to accept the awards on behalf of the firm, and said the recognition reflected Gilbert + Tobin’s spirit of innovation and dedication to exploring better ways of meeting client needs.

“We have a specialist internal tech team and we are always exploring opportunities for automation, digitisation and streamlining. However, while technology is a significant driver and enabler of innovation, we think of innovation more broadly.

“We have sought to be a little different. We are very strongly performance and financial driven, but we balance this out with informality. Our office environment is entirely open plan and we try to have fun. Being innovative in strategy means being bold and being willing to take risks.

“We should bring an innovative mindset to all we do, and I’m proud of what we are achieving at Gilbert + Tobin,” Mr Gilbert said.
