Today marks the commencement of Gilbert + Tobin’s second annual ‘hackathon’, Hack2, hosted in conjunction with Westpac’s Legal & Secretariat team.
More than 80 lawyers and technology specialists will gather at Gilbert + Tobin’s Barangaroo office where they will embark on a 24-hour intense design and coding journey.
The aim of the hackathon is to develop and prototype innovative solutions to a range of common legal requests and operational issues identified by Westpac’s in-house legal team.
Gilbert + Tobin’s Head of Legal Capability & Transformation, Petra Stirling, believes that the hackathon demonstrates the firm’s commitment to innovation and client service.
“Rapid, customer-focused problem solving is what gets results for today’s leading corporate legal teams. Westpac will emerge from this event with a valuable suite of corporate legal productivity solutions, primed for implementation.”
Gilbert + Tobin has advised Westpac for more than a decade. The firm won Law Firm of the Year at the 2016 Australian Law Awards and placed third overall in the Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards 2016.
