Gilbert + Tobin is proud to have hosted a legal symposium where the Hon. A.M. Gleeson AC QC delivered a landmark speech on the subject of Indigenous Constitutional Recognition.

In the paper entitled ‘Recognition in keeping with the Constitution: a worthwhile project”, Murray Gleeson, the former Chief Justice of Australia, outlined why proposals to implement the Uluru Statement from the Heart’s call for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament, is consistent with the nature of the Constitution and the values that underpin it.

The symposium was a joint initiative of Uphold & Recognise, the PM Glynn Institute and Uluru Statement from the Heart Education Project. The event was hosted by Danny Gilbert AM and closing statement delivered by Professor Greg Craven AO GCSG, Vice-Chancellor and President of ACU.
