Biography

Claire is a special counsel in our Technology and Digital group.

She advises on large scale technology projects, technology procurement, privacy and cyber security.

Claire advises clients across all sectors, with a particular interest in financial services and telecommunications. Her background in computer systems and electrical engineering allows her to provide practical and risk-based advice to her clients.

Experience

Claire’s experience includes advising:

  • An ASX20 company on a five-year approximately $400 million strategic outsourcing arrangement which involved shifting key business processes to AI agents.
  • A major consumer services company on privacy impact assessments for various new use cases of personal information within its business.
  • An ASX50 company on its approximately $100 million cloud migration project, including negotiating bespoke data protection terms, a complex incentives arrangement and professional services terms.
  • An ASX50 company on a $700 million joint venture to upskill its workforce and accelerate its data and AI roadmap.
  • A major international agricultural company on a privacy compliance audit of its entire Australian IT suite, including a detailed analysis of the client’s IT environment and privacy documentation, engagement with stakeholders to assess current privacy practices and developing a detailed compliance report with actionable recommendations.
  • A major Australian wagering company on its procurement of sporting code data feeds from a key data supplier, including negotiating complex data rights against the overlay of the Australian Sports Wagering Scheme.
  • A major professional services company on its engagement with the Department of Defence for a data environment uplift program and its supporting subcontractor arrangements.
  • An ASX50 company on a $100 million business process outsourcing project, which involved negotiating with three of the largest global IT services providers over a period of several months.
  • Various major Australian companies on IT services procurement templates and compliance with the Unfair Contract Terms regime.
