Gilbert + Tobin has appointed Dioni Perera as a Partner in its Disputes and Investigations group, establishing a dedicated Tax Controversy practice and expanding the firm’s ability to guide clients through rising scrutiny and complexity in the tax landscape.
Dioni brings two decades of experience advising on high-stakes tax disputes and litigation for ASX-listed companies, global multinationals and major private groups. Her work spans sectors including mining, infrastructure, energy, renewables and consumer markets, where regulatory pressure and enforcement activity continue to intensify.
Dioni’s appointment adds depth to the firm’s national disputes and tax platforms and positions it to support clients managing risk, controversy and regulatory engagement in an evolving environment.
Dioni joins with a team of five, including consultant Peter van den Broek, lawyers Alper Gokoglu, Alistair Thompson and William Li and graduate Robyn Flynn, strengthening the firm’s expertise across complex tax controversy matters.
