Jen Bradley

Biography

Jen is a special counsel in our Technology and Intellectual Property group.

She specialises in complex information technology and telecommunications projects and bespoke commercial arrangements across a broad range of industries, including financial services, energy and resources, healthcare, transportation, eCommerce, technology, telecommunications and government.

Her practice includes advising on associated regulatory issues such as privacy, data protection and consumer law compliance and on data commercialisation and emerging technology considerations. She has a wealth of experience in supporting major projects both pre and post-contract award and has an in-depth understanding of the legal, technical and commercial drivers for the procurement of technology and the commercialisation of digital assets.

Jen has a strong interest in artificial intelligence, advising various clients on the development and procurement of AI technologies, the current state of Australian and international AI regulation and approaches to AI governance, assurance, risk management and contracting. She is currently undertaking an Executive Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Business at the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School.

Experience

Jen’s experience includes advising:

  • Transport for New South Wales on its once in a generation transformation of the Sydney Trains network to replace signalling and control systems with a digital rail signalling and traffic management system.

  • Department of Customer Services on its whole of government agreement with Microsoft for the supply of Microsoft Enterprise products and services.

  • Human Technology Institute on AI regulation, industry standards, AI governance, ethics and risk management, including as part of HTI’s Future of AI Regulation and AI Corporate Governance programs.

  • Telstra on its multi-billion dollar IT, data and telecommunications outsourcing agreement with Services Australia.

  • An Australian big four bank on legal issues associated with the use of generative-AI software coding tools.

  • Retail Employees Superannuation Trust on the outsourcing of administration services for the trust, including associated prudential requirements and relevant IT and commercial contracting.

  • Lendlease Investment Management on the outsourcing of unit registry services.

  • Australian Rail Track Corporation on all aspects of the contracting related to its ‘ATMS’ traffic management system, including the ATMS’ ongoing development, roll out and maintenance.

  • NSW Electoral Commission in connection with procurements with various vendors to enhance its IT, digital and telecommunications capability and cyber security risk management.

  • Cancer Institute of NSW on the procurement of an AI deep-learning solution to assist in the diagnosis of breach cancer, including regulatory advice on privacy and data matters.
