Biography

Maria is a special counsel in our Real Estate and Projects group.

She has extensive experience in complex real estate transactions acting for the Australian and NSW Governments, national and international listed property trusts, real estate funds, property developers, shopping centre owners and operators, property investment vehicles and commercial property owners.

Maria specialises in acquisitions and disposals of commercial office buildings, retail shopping centres, industrial estates and residential properties, compulsory acquisition of land, complex leasing transactions, including agreements for lease, major tenant leasing, long term leases, ground leases and portfolio leasing of commercial, industrial and retail premises.

Experience

Maria’s experience includes advising:

  • Alceon Group on the acquisition of the Smithfield Shopping Centre in Cairns from Lend Lease.

  • Aware Real Estate on its acquisition of 44-48 O’Riordan and 52D O’Dea Avenue, Waterloo, NSW (a build-to-rent project) from the receivers of the Crown Group.

  • Rest Superon its acquisition of 2-30 Saintly Drive, Truganina, Vic from Charter Hall.

  • Barings Group on its acquisition of 40 Miller Street, North Sydney from Mirvac.

  • Sydney Metro on the surface land acquisitions, construction and barging licences on the Sydney Metro City & SW Project, the Sydney Metro West Project, and the Sydney Metro CBD West Project.

  • Family Planning NSW: on the sale of its head office in Ashfield and acquisition of its new head office at Newington.

  • Abacus Property Group/Kirsh Group on the disposal of the Birkenhead Point Shopping Centre and Marina to Mirvac.

  • Place Management NSW on finalising the long-term leases at Campbells Stores, The Rocks.

  • Goodman Group on the leasing of numerous industrial sites in NSW.

  • Karellas Group on agreements for lease, including Supamart IGA supermarkets at Tram Sheds, Glebe and Pennant Hills Marketplace, NSW.

  • Fuji Xerox on various warehouse and industrial leases in NSW, VIC and QLD.

  • Wallenius Wilhelmsen on various warehouse and industrial leases in NSW, VIC and WA.
