Biography

Sam is a lawyer in our Disputes and Investigations group.

He has deep experience in large scale, multi party and strategically complex litigation. His core practice centres on class action defence, regulatory investigations and significant financial services disputes, acting for ASX listed companies, major financial institutions, funds, trustees and global corporates.

Sam advises on the strategic conduct of class actions and the procedural steps that can materially affect settlement outcomes. His experience includes shareholder claims, financial products litigation, credit ratings disputes, alleged cartel conduct and mass tort matters.

He guides clients through the full life cycle of regulatory engagement, from investigations by ASIC, the ATO, APRA and the ACCC to civil litigation, enforcement and class action risks.

Sam also advises on significant commercial disputes, including breach of contract and misleading or deceptive conduct claims, corporate transactions, technology disputes and restructuring and insolvency related matters. He has particular experience in financial services, superannuation and private capital, including issues involving member services, disclosure, governance, valuation and investor protection.
