Caryn leads the Gilbert + Tobin Legal Service Innovation team and G+T Innovate. These teams provide specialised services to support our legal services delivery; and innovate to deliver new tools and services benefiting Gilbert + Tobin’s practice and our clients.
Caryn’s role encompasses responsibility for lawyers and business professionals working across Transformation, Legal Informatics, Legal Project Management, Knowledge Management and GTDocs.
A former practising corporate lawyer, Caryn brings 16 years of experience in legal, knowledge management, legal technology, change management, transformation and solution design to her role. Caryn works with a variety of ASX 20 in-house legal clients through G+T Innovate to explore opportunities for legal triage, better workflow management and automated service delivery.
Caryn is a regular speaker at global legal technology and innovation conferences and was recognised as one of Australia’s top legal innovators in the Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards 2018 and was ‘Innovator of the Year’ in the Lawyer’s Weekly Women in Law 2019 awards. Caryn is also a member of the Steering Group for the Chief Innovation Officers Forum, Australia, a member of the CEBIT 2019 Future of Industry Steering Committee and is a GROWL (Global Rise of Women in LegalTech) mentor.
Under Caryn’s leadership, Gilbert + Tobin has been recognised as a market leader, including most recently for: ‘Most Innovative Law Firm in the Asia-Pacific’ and ‘Innovation in Technology’ at the Financial Times Asia Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards 2019, and ‘Most Innovative Firm’ in the 2020 AFR Client Choice Awards for the third year in a row.
