2020 ended up being (we hope) a unique year, but Australia has fared comparatively well through the COVID-19 pandemic, and the ACCC and Australia’s competition and regulatory regime have demonstrated their flexibility to respond to new challenges thrown up by the pandemic, such as a huge increase in urgent interim authorisations allowing businesses to coordinate in ways that might otherwise be prohibited.

In our Competition Insights and Outlook for 2021 report, we explore the key themes and developments in Australian competition, consumer and regulatory law last year, and what we think is ahead for 2021.
