G+T advises ASDAM on its acquisition of TAE Aerospace and RUAG Australia.

Gilbert + Tobin has advised Australian sovereign defence, advanced manufacturing and sustainment group ASDAM on its recent acquisitions of global maintenance, repair and overhaul (“MRO”) company, TAE Aerospace, and Australian-based MRO company, RUAG Australia.

TAE Aerospace is Australia’s largest engine MRO provider and the operator of the only F-35 Joint Strike Fighter engine MRO facility in Asia Pacific. TAE services engines for both commercial clients and global and local defence programs. RUAG Australia provides MRO, aerostructures manufacturing, engineering, additive technology and surface treatment solutions for defence and non-defence customers.

ASDAM is owned by funds managed by CPE Capital, and currently comprises Marand and Levett. The acquisition of TAE Aerospace and RUAG Australia creates a company with approximately 1,000 employees across 20 sites in Australia and the United States. ASDAM is Australia’s largest supplier to the F-35 program.
