Gilbert + Tobin has reorganised and consolidated its national Restructuring and Insolvency practice, by creating a separate dedicated sub-group within its Banking + Projects Group. Partner and leading restructuring and insolvency lawyer Pete Bowden will head the national group.

As shifts in the economic landscape see the practice in high demand, the dedicated and growing team will continue to service its broad client base across insolvency, distressed transactions and disputes and applications arising in restructures, voluntary administrations, liquidations and receiverships. The team will provide full service in the insolvency and distressed business space by continuing to work closely with G+T’s broader Banking + Projects team, as well as the Corporate Advisory and Disputes + Investigations teams.

The R+I team will sit alongside specialist Banking, Real Estate and Energy + Infrastructure teams within G+T’s leading Banking + Projects practice group. The head of Banking + Projects, John Schembri, said that the new structure ‘reflected the growth over recent years and the ongoing importance of this practice area and I am delighted that Pete is taking on a leadership role in our firm’.

The G+T Restructuring + Insolvency team is spearheaded by partners Pete Bowden and Dominic Emmett and Special Counsel Anna Schwartz supported by a team of lawyers based in Sydney and Melbourne.
