Biography

Vince is a special counsel in our Fintech and Web3 group.

Specialising in funds management, Vince is an experienced financial services practitioner with nearly 20 years of advising clients in the financial services sector. He has extensive experience across both retail and wholesale financial services and acts for a range of domestic and offshore clients, including early stage regulated businesses.

Vince specialises in the establishment, promotion and operation of investment funds, with particular expertise in registered schemes with investment strategies in securities, real estate, credit and alternative assets. He also assists clients in bringing new digital products and services to the Australian market.

He has broad experience advising on a range of financial products, including managed investment products, securities, derivatives, non-cash payment products, superannuation products, life policies and annuities. Vince also advises on financial services regulation in the renewable energy sector, including in relation to regulated emissions units.

Vince’s experience includes advising:

  • A range of financial services providers on the application of financial services, AML/CTF, payments systems and credit laws relevant to the design, manufacture and distribution of a range of traditional and innovative products and services.

  • Fund managers and intermediaries on the digitalisation of investment products and services, including fractionalised and tokenised assets.

  • Fund managers on the establishment of single-asset property funds, as well as open-ended retail and wholesale investment funds investing in social housing, education and health care real estate assets.

  • Australian fund managers on the establishment of wholesale property funds investing in shared equity interests in Australian residential property, involving co-investment arrangements designed to improve home affordability.

  • Platform operators on the establishment of various investment platforms, including peer-to-peer lending platforms and fractionalised real estate investment platforms.

  • Australia’s leading promoter of horse-racing and horse-breeding syndicates, which are structured as registered schemes.

  •  Payment services providers on the offering of payments facilities.

  • Project proponents, commodities traders and others on the financial services regulatory requirements regarding the trading of Australian carbon credit units, eligible international emissions units and derivatives over and managed investment schemes in relation to emissions units.
