Gilbert + Tobin has advised Deutsche Bank AG (London and Sydney Branches) on the debt financing of Resolution Life Group’s (“Resolution”) A$3 billion acquisition of AMP Life. Resolution is a global manager of in-force life insurance businesses, and AMP Life is the largest mature and wealth protection business in Australia and New Zealand. 

The Gilbert + Tobin team was led by Banking + Infrastructure partner John Schembri, with support from lawyers Erin Cartledge and Will McCann and consultant Tiffany Sorge, and specialist regulatory support from partner Andrew Floro, and lawyers Daniel MacPherson and Ahmed Rizk. Corporate Advisory partner Alastair Corrigall, together with lawyer Michael Tong, provided support on corporate aspects of the transaction.
