He is an accomplished construction lawyer and has an acute understanding of the legal, technical and commercial issues that underpin successful project delivery. Kon provides strategic advice to market participants on the structuring, negotiation, drafting and administration of contracts across a broad range of projects, including: renewable energy projects, oil and gas facilities, process plants, residential and commercial developments, rail, roads, bridges, tunnels, airports, hospitals, schools and sporting facilities.
Kon also has extensive experience in dispute management and resolution, having acted on some of the largest construction-related litigation and arbitrations across Australia. This includes recently acting in a billion-dollar international arbitration on the Icthys Project in the Northern Territory, as well as several high-profile Supreme Court and Court of Appeal proceedings in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Kon also has a proven track record in devising and executing strategies that often result in the early and effective resolution of complex disputes.
Since attaining partnership in 2015, Kon has been consistently recognised as a leading construction and infrastructure lawyer in numerous local and international publications including Best Lawyers, Legal 500, Chambers Asia-Pacific and Who’s Who Legal.
Kon holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (with first class honours) from the University of NSW.
